Illustrations Relating To Tungsten Carbide Coatings

Before you select an alloy to use for your equipment, it is essential to take into consideration factors like their hardness, wear resistance, toughness, corrosion resistance, edge retention, sharpness, temperature resistance among other things. Tungsten carbide coatings are one of the best alloys or doping materials thus they can be worth giving a try.

Also, some other factors may affect the performance of these tools such as the type of binder used, the grain size, amount of cobalt, mixture of grain size, mixture of materials and the techniques that were used to manufacture the materials among other things. Therefore, it is advisable to do your research well before you purchase the alloy.

Cobalt is usually the binder, and the more you add the cobalt, the softer the grade becomes making it impact resistant. In case of less cobalt, the results will be better wear, but if that part is hit, it can break easily. Therefore, if the cobalt is more the material will be harder, but the part will also wear out faster.

Usually, small grains give better wear while larger grains give a better resistance to impact. If the grains are fine, the alloy will be very hard. On the other hand, extra coarse grains tend to be very useful in places that are prone to severe wear or impact applications especially mining or rock drilling applications. If you vary the grain size and the percentage of cobalt, you can make an alloy that tougher and harder altogether.

The benefits of using this alloy are so many, one of them being their hardness. This alloy is mostly used in industries, and it is second to diamond regarding hardness. Therefore, most of the agricultural tools are covered with this alloy to make them last longer as well as increasing their performance by blazing them together.

Using the alloy is very cost effective as their lifespan is lengthened when these tools are welded together with alloy. Since alloy makes these tools to be hard, they last longer thus there are not so many costs that are incurred for maintaining them. This can come in very handy especially if a person does not have enough money to maintain the tools.

Another benefit of using this alloy is protecting environmentally sensitive areas. When the alloy is applied to key areas, the design and shape of the parts are preserved making the tool to have the optimum performance for a very long time. If a component has not been welded with the alloy, its edges tend to wear and become rounded. This leads to smearing and compressing of the soil when the part is running through it.

The moment the soil has been compressed, it starts loosening thus spoiling the seedbed. This can then affect the growth of the crops hence the yields will be poor. For this reason, it is advisable to use the alloy to coat the components to prevent them from damaging the soil. This will give a person better agricultural yields.
